Our Chaplain
Hi there. I'm Ant, your Chaplain here at Chantry Academy!
I have been in youth and community education for over 20 years and for the last 8 years working in collaboration with the school and CYM. Christian Youth Ministries is a local faith-based charity who have Chaplaincies across Suffolk.
As a chaplain I continue to minister encouragement, journeying alongside students and staff, offering spiritual and pastoral care to the whole school. I am in school Monday to Thursdays, working closely with the staff team, to help support and enhance welfare provision and link to the wider community, including families, faith groups, other organisations and well-being services.
At the heart of CYM Chaplaincy is our mission; “Bringing wholeness through safe spaces.” How this expresses itself is through opportunities ranging from; being a consistent relational presence around school, whole school reflection, inspiration and enrichment activities, well-being groups and a staff café! I also offer focussed one to one support sessions including mentoring, listening, prayer and bereavement care.
“If ever you feel down and need to talk to someone you can feel safe with Ant, our Chaplain - you feel you belong!”

Chaplaincy seeks to curate and cultivate an even greater sense of belonging. The more I have served here, the more I have come to realise chaplaincy revolves around, and returns to, the themes of ‘Lost and Found.’
Feeling a little lost right now?
Ant, our Chaplain is here to wonder and wander it through with you. You can ask a member of staff or find him in Room G15.
