Welcome to Chantry
Chantry Academy is a proud and purposeful community, that works closely with parents and carers to empower every student with the support, ambition and opportunities they need to thrive.
Our academy is a thriving, fully inclusive secondary school at the heart of the Ipswich community. As part of the Active Learning Trust, we benefit from a strong network of expertise while maintaining our own clear identity and shared aspirations for every student. We serve a diverse and dynamic cohort of young people, and we are committed to providing a learning environment where everyone feels safe, supported and motivated to achieve their best.
We offer a broad and balanced curriculum that combines academic rigour with valuable vocational pathways, ensuring that all students can pursue subjects that excite them and prepare them for future success. Our teaching is purposefully designed to be active, engaging and relevant, helping students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need for life beyond school. Alongside this, we provide a wide range of extracurricular clubs, trips and enrichment opportunities that encourage students to explore their interests, discover new talents and grow as well-rounded individuals.
Chantry Academy is also proud of its strong culture of care. Our pastoral systems are well established, with dedicated staff who work closely with families to ensure that every student is fully supported - academically, socially and emotionally. We offer targeted support for pupils with additional needs, including access to specialist facilities and personalised interventions, that enables all learners to thrive within a nurturing and inclusive setting.
In recent years, significant investment in our buildings and facilities has enhanced the learning experience for our students. Modern teaching spaces, specialist classrooms and carefully designed support areas reflect our ongoing commitment to providing an inspiring and accessible environment for all.
Our most recent Ofsted inspection recognised the school as Good in all areas, noting the strength of our leadership, the quality of teaching and the positive attitudes of our students. This reflects the academy’s continued improvement and our determination to provide the very best education for every young person who walks through our doors.
Parents have confidence in the school and the overwhelming majority would recommend it. The school helps pupils to be the best they can and supports them very well in their success.
