GCSE Results Day Celebrations

Chantry Academy is celebrating after its Year 11 students received an excellent crop of GCSEs.

The students at Chantry join young people across the country as they find out their results following exams in May and June.

The youngsters have had many challenges to face, including the disruption to their education during the pandemic five years ago, when this year’s GCSE students were in their final year of primary school.

But the students at Chantry have risen to the challenge and have much to celebrate as they prepare for A-Level study or embark on college courses or apprenticeships.

The notable achievements at Chantry are:

  • Mya Gunn with three grade nines, two grade eights and four other higher grades including Level 2 Merti and grade sevens.
  • Amelia Grzesiak with four grade nines, one grade eight and three grade sevens amongst her other higher grades
  • Melanie Arche with one grade nine, five grade eights, three grade sevens and a level 2 distinction

Craig D'Cunha, Executive Headteacher at Chantry Academy, said: We are delighted with the fantastic GCSE results achieved by our Year 11 students this year.

“The class of 2025 has made us very proud and their success paves the way for a wide array of exciting post-16 options, including A-Levels and apprenticeships.

“Our heartfelt thanks go to our students’ families, carers and our dedicated staff for the continuous support they have provided throughout this journey. We wish our students every success for their next stage!”

“Our students and their families should be very proud of their achievements, not just academically, but the positive impact they have made on eth this community. “

Lynsey Holzer, CEO of The Active Learning Trust, added: “Many congratulations to everyone at Chantry for these brilliant GCSE results. I hope everyone is very proud of these achievements.

“I also want to acknowledge the commitment of our headteachers, teachers and support staff, whose hard work has been crucial in guiding and supporting our students.

"These outstanding achievements, combined with the meaningful experiences our students have had at Chantry, will equip them well for the next stage of their journey and we wish them all the very best for the future!”
